A continuously adjustable breathing resistance control can be used to set the desired airflow.The venturi lever will help prevent unwanted freeflow at the surface by changing the airflow inside the body of the 2nd stage. The large front cover of the 2nd stage features a honeycomb mesh structure (honeycomb shape) that distributes evenly while eliminating the onslaught of water. Hidden beneath these openings is a solid membrane guard to prevent a strong current from squeezing the lever and preventing unwanted opening of the air intake. This feature is very useful when riding a scooter or diving in a current.Stage 1 Hollis DCX is, by design, a dual diaphragm pressure reducing valve fully sealed to the surrounding environment. The swivel head provides 5 LP outlets, 4 of which are on the side and 1 in the head lid, as well as 2 HP outlets. This arrangement offers perfect hose routing for all configurations.All Stage 1 components as well as the Stage 2 ejector have a "PVD" (Physical Vapor Deposition) finish, which is a modern alternative to traditional chrome plating. It is designed to provide increased performance as well as durability, compared to traditional regulator finishes.
