Description

Oxygen lubricant

1ml

Oxygen lubricant is a high PTFE, white paste resistant to moisture, water, steam, alkalis, acids, oils, oxygen, vacuum and long-term atmospheric influences. Long-term resistance to low and high temperatures. It is originally designed as a lifetime lubricant for bridge bearings where it resists long-term atmospheric influences. However, it has other, very broad application uses.

The oxygen lubricant is based on a high PTFE silicone gel, which gives the base aerogel a white appearance and excellent lubricating properties. The lubricant exhibits high thixotropy and, due to the low surface tension of the liquid component, has excellent flowability, so it easily fills surface micropores and acts as an effective separator. It wets well and adheres to dry surfaces of metals, ceramics plastics and glass, protecting against moisture, water, methanol, glycol and mineral oils.

Uses:

Oxygen lubricant is applied as a lubricant for lubrication of fine mechanisms, slide valves of flow meters, valves, also in food industry. In electrical engineering as a damping and dielectric medium. It is also used as a high-temperature lubricant up to 220°C for slow-running rolling and sliding bearings, screws, in the lubrication of vacuum equipment and oxygen valves. It does not damage rubber or plastics. It has good preservative and durability parameters. Temperature range of use -70°C to 180°C, short-term up to 220°C.

Chemical/physical resistance:

Oxygen lubricant is non-flammable, not volatile even under high vacuum, and not disturbed by harsh water vapour. At operating temperatures of -70°C to 150°C it shows little change in consistency. At sustained temperatures above 180°C, the liquid component of the paste slowly oxidises in air and its products can be corrosive to some structural materials. The oxygen lubricant has very good resistance to dilute solutions of acids, alkalis and salts. It does not dissolve in water, glycol methanol and mineral oils, and does not resist gasoline, toluene, xylene, trichloroethylene and similar organic solvents.

Technical/health and safety information:

Oxygen lubricant is biologically harmless and does not cause skin irritation. When the paste enters the eye, tearing occurs as in the case of foreign object penetration. According to Act 350/2011 Coll. and Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP), the lubricant is not classified as hazardous and does not meet the additional requirements for the preparation of a safety data sheet.
