Regulator APEKS XL4 with XL4 octopus
The DB4 Stage 1 combines the time-tested DS4 platform with MTX technology. The result is a compact, extremely durable regulator. A robust dry chamber closure with a reinforced membrane helps prevent ice build-up while protecting the regulator from impact. A heat exchanger around the diaphragm increases the temperature of the breathing mixture inside the 1st stage. Classic shape is suitable for most configurations - single-bottle diving, twin-bottle diving, stage.
Despite its minimal size, the XL4's very lightweight 2nd stage has a classic solid front cover with a circular shower button that is easy to operate even with thick gloves. The low weight and clever shape, combined with the comfort mouthpiece, significantly reduce jaw fatigue during long dives. Exhaled bubbles are deflected out of the diver's field of vision by a rubber exhalation deflector, inspired by the Apeks TX series.
XL4 is also an ideal regulator for the stage. The perfect solution for technical divers who are serious about saving weight and overall gear volume on their expeditions.
The XL4/DB4 regulator has been tested and certified in accordance with EN250A (50m, 2°C, simultaneous breathing from main and backup second stage).
