Description

Many divers do not carry a snorkel into the water because they find its size, clumsiness and poor breathing function annoying. Using a snorkel on a dive is useful for saving precious gas while waiting at the surface by the descent rope. There are other situations where a reliable and efficient snorkel is a valuable piece of diving equipment. The new Atomic Aquatics SV series snorkels redefine the way snorkels work and help divers push the limits of their adventures.

SV? Scupper Valve

The design of the scupper valve on Aromic Aquatics snorkels is based on the same principle as the one-way scupper valves on boats. If a wave enters the boat, the pouring valve near the surface at the stern allows it to drain out, and then closes in a flash to prevent backfill. This simple Scupper Valve keeps the deck dry.

SV: Small & Versatile

Before we got into development, we asked divers for their opinions on the snorkels that are on the market. The most common complaint was size. Modern snorkels have evolved into a large and difficult to handle piece of gear. Divers have resigned themselves to wearing snorkels because they are bothered by their size, uncomfortableness and low performance. So Atomic introduced a snorkel that is small, streamlined, easy to flush and comfortable to use.

SV: Sleek & Valuable

At Atomic Aquatics, we always strive to achieve sleek and sensational designs that are not only attractive, but more importantly, functional. SV series snorkels are no exception. The smooth and low profile ensures that it is easy to attach to your mask, store elsewhere on your gear, or won't get stuck in transit. Atomic divers WANT to use SV snorkels to save air in the bottle, or to swim around an exotic lagoon between dives.

SV Series - how does it work? Just as simply as the one-way drain valve on the boat, the bottom of the SV1 and SV2 (semi-dry) snorkels work to drain the water. Water that flows over the top of the snorkel (1) completely bypasses the mouthpiece and flows out through the drain valve (4). If there is so much water that it enters the inner tube (2) located inside the body of the snorkel, which is terminated by a small drain valve (3) designed to allow the water to flow around the mouthpiece and leave this space (4) without unnecessary accumulation in the breathing space. The diver simply exhales and a small overpressure is sufficient to keep the inner tube dry. It's simple, it's effective, it's patented!

Features and Benefits of SV Series High Performance Snorkels

Scupper Valve is designed to be self-draining and allows for perfect, effortless cleanup. Posi-lock flex retainer takes care of fixing the flexible section and mouthpiece. (1) The mouthpiece made of two types of silicone prevents "chewing" of the mouthpiece by the teeth, which restricts air flow. (2) The mouthpiece can be rotated to the ideal position (latch fixation). (3) The SV1 model has a conical end for easy breathing.

SV how it works

SV2 with Semi-Dry Top

The SV2 combines a Scupper Valve bottom with a sleek and efficient semi-dry finish. The horizontal slats in the SV2 Semi-Dry Top (1) channel splashing water that would normally flow into the snorkel tube. The small gaps between the slats (2) reduce the velocity of the incoming water and reduce the droplet size, and then drain the water away (3) without flowing into the breathing space. Thus, there will be less water in your snorkel. The SV2 model is the perfect snorkel for rough and choppy waters.

Atomic has also invented a better snorkel holder
  • The quick-release snorkel holder has a 30-degree range of motion
  • The sliding holder has enough room for precise and comfortable adjustment without adjusting for each dive. SV holder
