Description

Our new generation CBM-U101 DIVING COMPACT BIBS MASK has been thoroughly designed, developed and tested for operation to depths of up to 400 msw in accordance with international technical and safety standards set by NORSOK.

Drass BIBS Mask Design and Technical Features:

The compact BIBS mask has been tested for breathing resistance in accordance with NORSOK U-101 rev.2 in the presence of a DNV-GL inspector up to a depth of 400 msw.

Minimized breathing effort:

The balanced two-stage control valve (inlet) and the exhalation valve (outlet) are both new concepts. There are no springs, levers or other mechanical back-acting parts installed - a virtually frictionless system that provides effortless breathing (with a significant reduction in supply pressure) for the diver while minimizing wear.

Reduced risk of leaks:

The silicone mouth-nose mask is designed to maximize insulation properties. The mask properly surrounds both the nose and mouth under the chin, increasing the effectiveness of the seal and reducing the load on the nasal bridge and jaw. In addition, the necessary holes for the head support attachment clips are drilled outside the face seal area for increased comfort.

Enhanced Safety:

Two independent and separate gas delivery and venting systems. An anti-asphyxiation valve is also installed to reduce the risk of suffocation in the event of a failure of the intake/exhaust system. In addition, the low internal volume of the mask minimises the risk of CO2 build-up.

Reduced risk of atmospheric pollution in the chamber:

The supply pressure for the mask is only 4 bar above the chamber pressure. In the event of a leak from the main supply line, the amount of breathing mixture or oxygen released in the chamber will be significantly lower than other available BIBS systems where the inlet pressure is 8-10 bar (or more) above the chamber pressure.

Dimensions, comfort and ergonomics:

The mask is compact and lightweight, with the centre of gravity (COG) and hose connection positioned very close to the diver's face. In addition, the mask has been designed so that all components can be integrated into its shell, creating a fully integrated structure. This specific design reduces the forces and associated stresses acting on the diver's neck without restricting head movement, while providing better visibility and unrestricted proximity to the task at hand. The flexible silicone mouth-nose mask ensures wearing comfort and is fully adjustable to suit any diver - different silicone mouth-nose masks are available to suit different head sizes and face shapes. The silicone mask can be replaced in the event of damage, or can be fitted to each diver individually (according to personal preference) to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination.
