The Rebel Splash is a semidry top snorkel. This snorkel is suitable for extended snorkelling sessions with a comfortable silicone mouthpiece.
Many divers do not carry a snorkel into the water because they find its size, clumsiness and poor breathing function annoying. Using a snorkel on a dive is useful for saving precious gas while waiting at the surface by the descent rope. There are other situations where a reliable and efficient snorkel is a valuable piece of diving equipment. The new Atomic Aquatics SV series snorkels redefine the way snorkels work and help divers push the limits of their adventures.
SV? Scupper ValveThe design of the scupper valve on Aromic Aquatics snorkels is based on the same principle as the one-way scupper valves on boats. If a wave enters the boat, the pouring valve near the surface at the stern allows it to drain out, and then closes in a flash to prevent backfill. This simple Scupper Valve keeps the deck dry.
SV: Small & VersatileBefore we got into development, we asked divers for their opinions on the snorkels that are on the market. The most common complaint was size. Modern snorkels have evolved into a large and difficult to handle piece of gear. Divers have resigned themselves to wearing snorkels because they are bothered by their size, uncomfortableness and low performance. So Atomic introduced a snorkel that is small, streamlined, easy to flush and comfortable to use.
SV: Sleek & ValuableAt Atomic Aquatics, we always strive to achieve sleek and sensational designs that are not only attractive, but more importantly, functional. SV series snorkels are no exception. The smooth and low profile ensures that it is easy to attach to your mask, store elsewhere on your gear, or won't get stuck in transit. Atomic divers WANT to use SV snorkels to save air in the bottle, or to swim around an exotic lagoon between dives.
SV Series - how does it work?Similar to the one-way drainage valve on a boat, the bottom of the SV1 and SV2 (semi-dry) snorkels work to drain the water. Water that flows over the top of the snorkel (1) completely bypasses the mouthpiece and flows out through the drain valve (4). If there is so much water that it enters the inner tube (2) located inside the body of the snorkel, which is terminated by a small drain valve (3) designed to allow the water to flow around the mouthpiece and leave this space (4) without unnecessary accumulation in the breathing space. The diver simply exhales and a small overpressure is sufficient to keep the inner tube dry. It's simple, it's effective, it's patented!
Features and benefits of SV series high performance snorkels
Scupper Valve is designed to be self-draining and allows for a perfect, effortless cleanup. Posi-lock flex retainer takes care of fixing the flexible section and mouthpiece. (1) The mouthpiece made of two types of silicone prevents "chewing" of the mouthpiece by the teeth, which restricts air flow. (2) The mouthpiece can be rotated to the ideal position (latch fixation). (3) The SV1 model has a conical end for easy breathing.
SV1 Flex: High-Performance Design with Conical Termination
All SV series snorkel models feature a Scupper Valve in the mouth section at the bottom. Divers can then choose from a breathing tube ending that accommodates his or her needs. The SV1 model has a conical end for maximum airflow. The SV1 is the optimal choice for calm waters or for fast swimming. Although water can flow through the top opening, the inner tube remains dry. Any water that gets trapped in the mouthpiece is easily blown out with a small amount of air. The flexible bottom section lets the mouthpiece drop off when not in use. Atomic also invented a better snorkel holder
Colors
The colours of the SV1 models are tuned in line with the popular SubFrame and Frameless mask tones. Black/Clear, Reef Red, Royal Blue, Silver, and Neon Yellow.
Atomic Aquatics development team (winner of many international style awards) created the SV1 and SV2 snorkels as a piece of gear you can be proud of.
